The cultural and creative industries are one of the fastest growing sectors and a significant source of income and employment. In addition to the economic benefits of the cultural and creative industries, they contribute to the cultural diversity, science, education and development of the entire society. Despite the growth over the last four years, there is significant room for the development of the CCI, it was concluded at a roundtable. The roundtable was attended by representatives of institutions and individuals active in the CCI area.
The representatives of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development informed interested individuals about the implemented project activities. The process of mapping and assessing the economic effects of the CCI was reviewed at the outset, pointing to the importance of the study, which is the starting point for defining the scope of the CCI and provides a basis for monitoring the success of support and achievement of goals in this area. The participants were presented what the cultural and creative industries encompassed, as well as the basic economic parameters that were calculated for the study.
As President of the working group of the Ministry of Culture, which prepares a strategic document for the development of creative industries, Mr. Edin Jasarevic presented the activities of the Ministry of Culture, focusing on the development of hubs and especially the Cerovo Hub in Bijelo Polje and its role in the development of cultural and creative industries. He also pointed out that the main goals of the Ministry in the coming period are oriented to employment growth through engagement of creative potential of young people and entrepreneurs, as well as tax collection from transactions that are induced by creative activities.
