Courage never goes out of the fashion: in the village Odzak, around ten kilometres from Pljevlja, the boy Dzervin Hodovic was not ordinary one from an early age. He was able to do what others did not care about and he was never satisfied with every day, ordinary solutions.
He learned the shoe shoemaker craft early. He was an apprentice at his cousin’s shop, but soon became independent. He decided he did not want to be anything but what he was and at the same time he decided to be better at what he was doing. The repair of old shoes did not satisfy his hunger for conquering new dimensions of the profession. He started making his own models as well.
The creativity and courage go hand in hand and once started, they do not know how to stop: Dzervin was interested in leather goods in general. Soon, new models of belts, wallets, bags began to emerge from his skilled hands.
Without awl, there is no saddler, and no craft without a good tool. This attitude made Dzervin an innovator. He realized that an awl and old saddler craft were not enough. He designed and made three completely original machines by himself, the machines he needed for production and which he still benefited from today. Thanks to his passion and innovation, Dandi & Co, one of the most prestigious leather goods workshops in the region, has grown from a small shoe store.
A small but very dedicated team of ten members specialized in various sectors: from manufacturing, through design, to marketing – through team and dedicated work, they managed to become a brand that today boasts and is the only manufacturer of leather belts, wallets and bags in Montenegro and he managed to save this craft from oblivion as part of intangible cultural heritage; which is constantly capturing new markets, now across the globe, with the quality of its products.
