In view of the current situation caused by the corona virus pandemic, the Ministry of Culture has launched a campaign ‘Living the culture #ostanidoma’, with the aim of offering cultural and artistic content to the citizens of Montenegro through the channels of communication available from home in the days of socially isolated functioning.

Under the slogan ‘We can experience so much from home’, the Ministry of Culture has thus fully joined the official Government of Montenegro ‘Stay Home’ campaign through the space provided on the RTCG, OnDemand platform of cable operators, as well as LIVE opportunities of online communication channels.

Thus, in cooperation with institutions operating in the Ministry of Culture, extensive and diverse content has been provided to the Montenegrin public for the past month, more precisely since the beginning of the crisis period. For starters, in cooperation with the National Public Service, four hours of daily program were set aside, between 8pm and midnight. In this term, on the second RTCG channel, viewers can watch: a short promo film ‘Creative Montenegro’, then a play ‘My Daughters’ by director Ana Vukotic produced by the Montenegrin National Theater, a short film ‘In Memory of the Navy’s Celebrity’ by ZdravkoVelimirovic , a feature film ‘Between Day and Night’ directed by AndraMartinovic and a New Year’s concert in 2019/20 of our famous guitarist MilosKaradaglic.

While the measures of the National Coordinating Body for Infectious Diseases are ongoing, the production of Montenegrin cultural institutions in a form adapted for television broadcasting will be shown daily from 8pm to midnight. The viewers can thus see the best performances in the production of the Montenegrin National Theater and Zetskidom, a selection of feature films produced by Montenegrin authors, archival films and documentary forms from the Contingent of the Montenegrin film archive, concerts of the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, video guides through exhibitions of the Center of Contemporary Art of Montenegro, attachments and videos of our cultural events, interviews, discussions, etc.

Considering that one of the goals of the campaign is to motivate our artists to creativity from their own homes, the Ministry of Culture will create additional multimedia content, which will enrich the campaign, as well as reach the younger population. The plan is to implement this using the LIVE module within social networks and YouTube channels. Another segment of the campaign involves activating the Living Culture platform at www.culture.co.me, which will provide an additional communication tool, relieved of formal reporting and tailored to the needs of each culture consumer. Also, through the orders of the Ministry of Culture on social networks, the contribution to the campaign is made daily by a large number of Montenegrin artists and celebrities, who support the citizens and call for respect for the NKT measures.
