The study ‘ESSnet‐Culture Final Report ‘ is the result of an ESSnet-Culture project co-financed by the European Commission. This report is the result of two years of work by the European Statistical System of Culture, led by the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture on ‘Cultural Statistics’. The importance of culture in the economic and social aspect of life has been recognized by the European Union as well as by the need for a European system of cultural statistics. The aim of this project is to develop and improve knowledge when it comes to cultural statistics.
