Presenting the results of the project ‘Towards the Creative Industries Policy Solutions in Serbia and SEE’, this study indicates to socio-economic significance of the creative industries and offers the basics for formulation of the future public policy for development of the creative industries in Serbia. The study points to the potentials of the creative industries in Serbia – from the notion of the creative industries, to their economic and social aspects, conceptualization in the national frameworks. In conditions of continuous lack of relevant statistical data, the study confirms that specific areas of creative industries contribute significantly to the development of the national economy and its rapid and efficient integration into modern European and world trends.
