Nada has no time to start changing the world from tomorrow – she does that today. She tried yesterday. It was harder for her yesterday, but she knows that it will be a little easier tomorrow.
In fact, it all started with birth. When you are born, they give you a name. Of course, it matters which one. When they tell you that your name is Nada (eng. Hope) then you have nowhere to go. You have to move fearlessly forward.
You quickly learn that the worries that are born in your head have to be squeezed out by the dreams you carry in your heart. You realize that you are too busy to have the time to be angry with anyone and that you are free enough to treat someone else’s successes as your own. You decide to be who you are. And then – let others to see it.
Nada comes from Bar, but as of September 2018, her new home is in the old Titex factory in Podgorica. It’s called Zahara Photo Studio. It is a multifunctional space, the perfect place for art lovers, professionals in the field of photography and for those who just want to step into the artistic waters. In the studio, you can find a variety of backgrounds and the latest photographic equipment from Profoto company, as well as a wide gallery space. Various theme nights, charity events, exhibitions, promotions, workshops and anything else that Zahara’s staff and guest artists can think of are organized in Zahara. You can rent a studio for photography, recording, casting, etc.
Nada and her team bring together a growing circle of creative people who enjoy what they do in a modern, inspiring and innovative way.
‘I’ve met a lot of young people who are turning to the arts and they are trying to deal with the prejudices that come from their traditional families. They complain that they are often told how one cannot make a living from art’, Nada says. ‘I think we can, we just need to unite. We should stick together and build something like an artistic commune. In our area, I know of two or three more spaces of this type, but they are in much larger cities and therefore it is even more important that we, the artists here, stick together. Most visitors comment on the feeling they have while they are in Zahara and often say they have the impression that they are in another country’.
Indeed, Zahara‘s space is a curious blend of modernity and the traditional spirit of the Mediterranean: it is inspired primarily by the colours and ornaments of Morocco and brings together more exotic elements of different Mediterranean cultures in the context of an environment characterized by cutting-edge modern technology.
This unique concept would not be possible without the help of the family, but also without the support offered to young entrepreneurs by the Investment and Development Fund of Montenegro. Zahara is a success story of what can be done well when quality state projects and innovative entrepreneurial initiatives of young people come together.
If you really want to fly, you need to get rid of the burden that doesn’t allow you to peel yourself off the ground. Nada knows this and that is why her faith in people is always stronger than any doubt.
She captivates with her openness and hospitality. So do her colleagues. Their house is your house too and it doesn’t matter who you are – it matters what you bring to them from the bottom of your heart.
